Radisson Blu Mall of America

Radisson Rewards reached out to see if we’d like to host a points give-away on this site.  The original deal was to give away two 100,000 point bundles and we’d get a gift card for our troubles.  Instead, we turned down the gift card so that we could give away three sets of 100K points.  The only requirement Radisson imposed in offering this giveaway was to mention the key features of the Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card.  We can do that…

Following is the text suggested by Radisson Rewards regarding their credit card, along with my own comments in italics:

Radisson Rewards™ Premier Visa Signature® Card

  • Automatically get upgraded to Radisson Rewards Gold status with the Radisson Rewards Visa Card.
Gold status gets you bonus points and an occasional room upgrade, but don’t expect free breakfast.
  • Earn up to 3 free nights! Earn one free e-cert for each $10,000 spent (up to $30,000)
Keep in mind that these free nights are good only at US properties.
  • 40,000 renewal bonus points each year when you renew your card by paying the Annual fee
I keep my card year after year mainly because I think the annual point bonus is worth the annual fee.
  • 10 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases at the Radisson Family of Hotels (not including prizeotel), 5 points per $1 spent in eligible net purchases everywhere else
5X everywhere sounds great until you consider that points are worth about .4 cents each, so this card is like a 2% rewards card where rewards can only be used at Radisson Rewards hotels. On the other hand, if you earn additional free nights through $10K, $20K, and $30K spend then the value proposition goes up substantially.
  • Up to 85,000 Bonus Points – receive 50,000 points after your first purchase plus 35,000 points once you spend $2,500 on your card within the first 90 days
This is a decent signup bonus, but keep in mind that the award chart goes up to 70K points, so the bonus isn’t enough for two nights at a top tier hotel.
  • If you are interested in signing up for the card and learning more visit here
We do not earn an affiliate commission for this card.
Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto Harbourfront. This one looks great.  You can use points to book this hotel (44K per night), but you can’t use the free night certificates you get with $10K spend since those are limited to hotels within the United States.

Worked fine for me, was able to enter without logging in anywhere.

Both Radisson photos above looks like stage sets for Austin Powers, LOL.

[…] 300k Radisson Rewards points via FrequentMiler, enter by July 29, […]

Greg – It’s crap that to enter this I need to allow some third party site access to my facebook/twitter/instagram. Haven’t we learned anything from Cambridge Analytica?

Why would you support such an arrangement? You can do a contest without that ridiculousness.

Um, did you try it yourself? There certainly is that requirement. As soon as I enter my reason for “what would you do if you won?” I am told I “need to verify.” When I clicked on facebook, it tells me “Gleam Competitions will receive: your public profile, tagged places and email address.”

Are you seriously not aware of this?

David Grant

This is nonsense Greg. I’ve had the very same negative experience, how many email addresses does one need to have to enter your competition?

None of those shananigans came up when I entered. So weird!

Nick Reyes

I missed this comment the other day. Before Greg published this, I also tested an entry with just my email address — no Facebook/Twitter/Instagram — and it worked fine. (Don’t worry, I’m not eligible to win). Did you try again with a different email address?
