Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is almost done! The last two weeks Greg, Nick, and Stephen competed to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines. But who completed the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
While doing some link maintenance on our Best Offers page this evening, I realized that the referral offer for the Business Platinum card is now 95,000 Membership Rewards points after $15K in purchases in the first 3 months. While we had previously listed that some people saw this offer when clicking through a referral link (in the same sort of way that some people see the 100K + 10x offer on the personal Platinum card), it now seems that this is the standard referral offer on the Business Platinum card.

Quick Thoughts
The “standard” bonus on this card is 75K points after spending $15K in the first 3 months. The referral offer now adds 20K points on top.
Getting 95K is obviously better than getting 75K, though Doctor of Credit reports that 100K offers are still commonly available via phone. In the past, we have seen targeted offers as high as 150K points, though to my recollection that offer required $20K spend and we haven’t seen it as often as we had in years past.
Still, if you’re working from within a household, the referral offer could obviously make sense if you’re also able to pick up 15K-25K points for referring your spouse / second player.
Obviously this offer isn’t nearly as exciting as the personal Platinum offers that come with 10x at US Gas stations and 10x at US Supermarkets — the business Platinum cards are not offering any such temporary bonus. However, for those ineligible for the personal version or looking for a business card, this could be good if you can swing the big spend.
Just got approved for 110K bonus offer through a 30K referral from P2.
Tempting as gold card is offering 30k referral bonuses on both our cards. Any thoughts on whether Amex would have an issue with Paypal Key and Plastiq for minimum spend? Have a roofing job coming up and they don’t accept credit cards.
Hard to say.
Along the same lines, I was considering the Chase Ink Business Preferred for the 100,000 UR after 15K. I was planning to pay multiple business mortages for three months (about $4500/month worth) thru Plastiq and Paypal Key. Is that an issue with Chase?
That probably would have been fine before Paypal Key stopped working with Plastiq
Thanks, Greg. Assuming I still want to go for a Chase Business card and don’t mind paying Plastiq’s regular fee, can I pay mortgages with it? Any clawing back or chance of shut downs with Chase if I do that to meet min spend? TIA
Only Mastercard and Discover allow paying mortgages through Plastiq. See: https://frequentmiler.com/complete-guide-to-plastiq-credit-card-payments/#What_Works_What_Doesn%E2%80%99t
If you find other things to pay via Plastiq, I don’t believe there’s any chance of clawback or shutdown due to paying bills. That’s totally legitimate
