New Amazon Amex Offers appeared on targeted accounts yesterday. Some are offering 1,200 bonus Membership Rewards when spending $150 or more, but there other versions too. Even better, you can redeem these offers up to three times.

- Spend $150 in one or more purchases at Amazon & earn 1,200 bonus Membership Rewards points
- Spend $50 in one or more purchases at Amazon & earn 500 bonus Membership Rewards points
- Spend $40 in one or more purchases at Amazon & earn 1,000 bonus Membership Rewards points

- Enrollment is limited. Eligible Card Members must first add offer to their Card and then use same enrolled Card for qualifying purchases.

Quick Thoughts
These are great deals, no matter which of the versions above you’re targeted for (if you are indeed targeted).
My wife and I have the $150/1,200 points offer on a few of our cards; that version works out to be an additional 8X Membership Rewards per $150 spent which is on top of whatever the earning rate is on our targeted cards. That’s even better than the 5X available on Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cards at Amazon this quarter.
The terms exclude purchases of corporate gift card and custom-designed gift card purchases, but you can buy third party gift cards to trigger the bonus points from this Amex Offer. You can also buy Amazon gift cards themselves, or reload your balance.
What I’m not sure about is whether a $300+ transaction will earn 2,400 bonus points or a $450+ transaction will earn 3,600 bonus points, or if you’re capped at earning 1,200 bonus points per transaction. There have been similar types of Amazon Amex Offers in the past, so please share your experiences in the comments as to how that’s worked. There’s no guarantee that it’ll be the same this time around, but it’s likely that however it’s worked in the past will be how it works this time too.
The expiry date of this offer might be helpful too. Amazon normally runs Prime Day in the middle of July, so hopefully it’ll take place before this spending offer expires on July 19.
