Amazon has launched a nice new promotion offering $10 in Amazon promo credit free when buying a $40 Amazon gift card.
The Deal
- Buy $40 Amazon Mini Prime Envelope Tin or Prime Day eGift Card & get $10 promo credit free when using promo code GIFTFORPD21.

- The Prime Day gift cards are not a direct purchase of a Prime membership. Recipients of the gift cards can redeem the gift card value towards their Prime membership at the Prime Membership page.
- Recipient or sender of the gift card will not get early access to the Prime Day event or deals.
- This limited time offer and associated promotional code expire at 11:59:59 p.m. (PT) June 20, 2021 or when supplies have been exhausted, whichever occurs first. Any promotional credit remaining unredeemed after August 7, 2021 11:59:59 p.m. (PT) will be forfeited.
- For qualifying purchases, a promotional credit of $10 will be automatically applied to the Amazon.com Prime account that was used to purchase the Amazon.com Gift Card(s) within two (2) days after the qualifying order has been completed or, where applicable, the order has shipped.

Quick Thoughts
Prime Day is coming up in a few weeks, so this offer seems to be kicking off the lead up to those most sacred of days.
It’s a great offer because provided you’ll be able to redeem the $10 in promotional credit by August 7, you’ll be getting a 25% bonus/20% discount.
Note that this offer is only available for Prime members. Even if you’re not interested in paying for Prime long term, you can sign up for a 30 day free trial which would get you access to this deal along with all other Prime Day deals later this month. You can then cancel at the start of July if you decide it’s not for you.

I’m going straight to Amazon, putting the e-gift card in cart, typing in the code and STILL I keep getting a message: promo code cannot be applied to your purchase.
What can we do to get it?

I thought I had the same problem until I noticed that there was a message that the discount was already applied. When entering the code it told me that it couldn’t be applied but that was because it was already there. Is it possible that’s what happened to you?
yes, on the first page i get that message – that the discount was already applied, but when i go to purchase the gift card the discount doesn’t show and when i add the code it says invalid
Does this work just like any other Amazon gift card where I can just add it to my own account credit?

Did you activate the offer at the landing page above? That should work instead of entering the promo code.
Ditto. Not working. Activated offer and page went to three different gift card options. None of them would work when checking out
Do you have Prime membership? If not, that’s why as it’s only for Prime members. If you do have Prime, I’m not sure why it’s not working for you as it’s showing up fine on my account.
The “Direct link to activate offer” link goes to a page that says “SORRY we couldn’t find that page”.

Was able to click the button to add code to my account, but cannot figure out what gift cards it applies to. I get nothing when I search Amazon for either “Amazon Mini Prime Envelope Tin” or “Prime Day eGift Card”. Are these only available on Prime Day? Thank you.

I’ve just added a different activation link. Note that the deal only works on two types of gift cards.
Getting error message using your link
That’s strange – I don’t know why that wasn’t working. I’ve added a new link which should work.
Clicking the link in the email doesn’t work cos it’s the old link. I thought you’d fix it and so I clicked to display the blog post in a browser and the link works. Hope this helps.
