Amazon Prime Day here (July 12-13 this year). This post includes links to a number of popular deals and we will be sure to update it over the next couple of days as we see other deals worth highlighting.
All of the Amazon links contained in this post are affiliate links.
Hunting for deals
If you’re hunting around for deals on your own, be sure to see the post 5 Tools for weeding through Prime Day deals and reducing buyer’s remorse for tips on how to hunt for deals and compare to historical pricing.
Keep in mind that many other stores and sites will offer discounts today to compete, so don’t limit your deal comparison to Amazon. Expect similar sales today from Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and others. If we find a number of excellent competing deals, we’ll add a section of non-Amazon Prime Day deals to this post.
Obviously you’ll also want to subscribe to our instant emails to be notified of any deals we send out directly via Quick Deal. Throughout the Prime Day event, we will add new deals to the top of each section below, but if a deal is particularly notable, we’ll probably post a separate quick deal post to highlight it. Keep your eye on your email.
Amazon Prime Day 2022 deals
Amazon / Alexa-enabled devices
- Amazon Kids+ for 1 year for $19.99
- Facebook Portal – Smart Video Calling 10” Touch Screen Display with Alexa for $34.99 for Prime members (this was $99 last year on Prime Day).
- Fire HD 10 tablet, 10.1”, 1080p Full HD, 32 GB, latest model (2021 release), hands-free with Alexa, Black for $74.99
- Ring Video Doorbells and bundles starting at $66.98. At $84.99, I think that the Ring and Echo Show bundle looks like a very good deal.
- Fire TV sticks with Alex voice remotes starting at $11.99. I imagine this could be convenient for travel if you like to use the hotel TV with your streaming accounts.
- Fire HD 8″ and 10″ Kids tablets for 40-50% off (starting from $49.99). I bought an 8″ Fire HD kids tablet for my son in Fall of 2020 and it seems pretty indestructible so far (somewhat interestingly, it seems that the product page for it hasn’t changed since October 2020 — it seems they haven’t come out with a new Fire HD 8″ model since that). Note that this is a regular Fire HD 8 wrapped up in a kids’ package: the only things that make this a “kids” version is the big blue case and the ability to set a child’s profile. It also comes with a year of Amazon Kids+ and a 2-year guarantee for replacement if your kid manages to break it (we are nearly 2 years in and it has held up perfectly well). If you don’t need the extra kiddie features, the regular Fire HD 8 (same product without the “kids” add-ons), is on sale for $44.99.
- Echo Frames (2nd Gen) | Smart audio glasses with Alexa | Classic Black for $99.99. (other styles, including sunglasses for $119.99 and Amazon earbuds on sale can also be found here). I really don’t understand this product. I own a set of Google Glass, but without the ability to see anything in the glasses, I just don’t understand the advantage here over wireless earbuds or holding your phone in your hand. That said, if you have vision insurance that will reimburse the cost of the frames, maybe they’re a fun toy. Last year, these same frames were on sale for $174.99. Note that you’ll still need to get your own prescription lenses.

Gift Card Deals
- Amazon has many 3rd party gift cards on sale here. See more details and specifics in Stephen’s post here.
Products
- Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds for $179.99
- Apple Watch Series 7 [GPS 41mm] Smart Watch for $279.
- Apple AirPods Pro Wireless Earbuds with MagSafe Charging Case for $169.
- Samsung Phones & Accessories (Galaxy S22 starts at $599.99, but there are also deals on refurbs, watches, earbuds, and other accessories)
- Up to 25% off Amazon Warehouse Deals (discounts available at checkout)
- Moen 26112SRN Engage Magnetix Six-Function 5.5-Inch Handheld Showerhead with Magnetic Docking System for $22.83. This feels very random, but I saw this on Doctor of Credit’s list and it seemed like a great price for a Moen showerhead. I know that because I broke a showerhead last year and had to buy a new one and it cost me more than $22.83.

How do I confirm that I will indeed get $60 off my purchase with my $0.01 Amex redemption? Already hit the buy button. Yeah. That is what the offer gave us – $60 off, which is more than the 40% off $100. Anyone else getting this?
It gives you the 40% off on the original price of the product prior to any other Amazon discounts. So guessing in your case the product was originally ~$150?
Oh. I was Not aware of that. Then, Yes. The original cost was just over $150, but I thought the max was still only $40?
Was the Amex discount still $40 and the rest of your discounts got you to $60? I had a Discover $30 off and it took it off the original price (>$100 pre-Amazon sale price), but still only gave me $30 max.
I just checked my order. Amex Plat Biz gave me 50%%%%% off!!! I don’t know how, but they did. Total price was $124.
