(New links needed) Amex Business Gold Card: 130k referral offer is back again

Update 4/4/24: Similar to the 150k Business Platinum offer, referral links to the 130k Membership Rewards points welcome offer on the Amex Business Gold card expired yet again.

It seems like different people are now targeted for being able to refer to this offer, so we’d like to get updated referral links on the Facebook referral thread (please see instructions in this post). Please only leave your referral link if it specifically states when obtaining the link that your friend will earn 130k points; if it says they’ll earn something like 70k points but when opening your link in a certain way it shows the 130k offer, those links aren’t eligible and will be removed from the referral thread.

The 130,000 points referral offer for the American Express Business Gold card is back again. This targeted offer gives 130,000 Membership Rewards points on $10,000 spend and is only available via referral. This is the offer you’ll find on our Best Offers Page as it’s the best one out there.

This 130K offer is 60K points better than the current affiliate offer of 70K that you’ll see on most points and miles sites. However, there is an even better 150K targeted offer that’s available to some folks. It’s worth seeing if you can generate that offer before applying for this one. If you’re in 2-player mode and one of you has the 130K referral showing on your card, applying via a household referral would be even better, with a total haul of 155K Membership Rewards.

Quick Thoughts

This referral offer is targeted, meaning that only some Business Gold card holders have the ability to generate a link for it — but the offer itself is publicly available to anyone applying through a qualifying referral link (like the one on our Business Gold card page). Those cardholders who have the ability to generate a 130K link will see it advertised in the “refer a friend” section of their login — it shows the bonus that you’ll get as a Business Gold cardholder and that your friend will get 130,000 points (whereas most of us only have a referral offer for 70K points for our friends). This is similar to a situation we saw earlier this year where only a relatively small number of Platinum cardholders had the ability to refer to the very best offer.

Keep in mind that this Business Gold card welcome bonus is not available to those who have or have had card before.

We want your 130K offer referral links

Here at Frequent Miler, our Best Credit Card Offers page always links to the best available welcome offer, even if that’s not an affiliate link. The best offer for the Amex Business Gold card through affiliate channels is currently only 70,000 Membership Rewards points, that’s why you’ll see many other points and miles sites hawking that inferior version.

However, we always present the best offer for new applicants, even when it doesn’t benefit our site through affiliate commissions. We want to share the wealth by using readers’ referral links on the site. We will need reader links for the 130K offer.

If you’d like to have your referral link shared on the Best Offers page, here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Check your referral link

You can find your referral link here, or by logging in to your American Express account and scrolling down to the ‘Refer A Friend’ link at the bottom of the page and clicking on that. Note that you might need to change your card at the top of the referral page so that your Amex Platinum card is selected.

Before sharing your referral link, please ensure that it generates a link to the offer giving new applicants 130,000 Membership Rewards points after $10,000 in purchases. Not all cardholders can generate the superior offer, so please check first.

Step 2: Join the Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group

If you’re already part of our Facebook group, you can skip this step. If you’re not a member though, you’ll need to join this group. Note that you’ll be asked a question or two (depending on if you try joining on mobile or desktop) to ensure you’re not a bot. Please answer that question(s), otherwise you won’t get admitted to the group in order to do step 3.

Step 3: Share your link on the dedicated thread

We have a dedicated thread set up to share your 130K, so please only share your referral links here as a reply to the first comment. We’ll then work our way through the links for as long as this increased offer is only available via referrals. We will rotate through links there regularly to try to give as many readers as possible a chance at picking up a referral bonus.
