Best Western has slashed elite requirements for 2021 in half. Now, aspiring Best Western elites can earn coveted status with as few as 5 nights or 3 stays or 5,000 points. Woo hoo! That last part was meant to be sarcastic. Elite status with Best Western doesn’t get you much other than free water and extra points:

I did the recent status match and they didn’t even ask for a screenshot showing evidence of my status with Hyatt.
Best Western status is a joke. Status matched to Diamond Select a few years ago. Stayed at half a dozen or so Best Westerns. You get a bottle of water and a granola bar at check-in. That’s it. No special treatment or better rooms.
