If you’re neglected to take full advantage of your annual airline incidentals credits and are looking to make a quick transaction to trigger them, Doctor of Credit notes a key piece of information regarding the processing of Delta gift cards: the site through which you purchase them may influence your airline reimbursement.

Specifically, according to data points uncovered from Flyertalk, eGift cards purchased through the desktop version of the website are processed by Delta and those purchased through the mobile site are processed by CashStar. You’ll want to buy gift cards in denominations of $50 or less from the desktop site to trigger your automatic airline incidentals credits. We’ve added that information to our resource page: Amex Airline Fee Reimbursements: What still works?.

I bought egift for $250 on 12-05-17 on Delta desktop site and received my Citi Prestige travel credit no problem.

David

Tried aa. com $50 gift card thru windows laptop yesterday, didn’t trigger auto reimbursement from Amex plat. Will call to try manual reimbursement. Anyone else notice this lately?

Robert

If you just did it yesterday, you can’t know if it auto triggered or not. It takes a few days and there’s no email notification that the credit was triggered.

Randy

Anybody have experience with the CNB Crystal card and delta gift cards?

Guy

Will this also trigger the Delta $60 off $300 amex offer for those that have it?

Greg The Frequent Miler

I expect so, yes
