We wrote yesterday about the current Chase Pay offer going on at Best Buy where you can get 10% back on up to
$400 $300 of spend when paying with a Chase Freedom card.
Edit: This offer’s now available on other Chase cards.
Depending on your local Best Buy, it’s possible to stack this promotion with additional gift card deals.
Marshall commented on our original post that his local Best Buy had some gift card deals. Those offered a $10 Best Buy gift card when purchasing $100 of gift cards for BP, Shell, Southwest and others.
These gift card deals appear to be localized, so YMMV. Greg went into his local Best Buy today and saw the offer in the photo above offering a $5 Best Buy gift card when purchasing a $25 Buffalo Wild Wings gift card.
Stacking these gift card deals with the current Chase Pay promotion could make this deal profitable for gift card reselling.
For example, if your Best Buy has the same deal that Marshall mentioned, you could get
$400 $300 of BP gift cards and $40 $30 of Best Buy gift cards for $400 $300.
$354 $265.50 for $400 $300 worth of BP gift cards and $35.80 $26.85 for $40 $30 of Best Buy gift cards. This would therefore earn you $389.80 $292.35, although you may be able to earn more depending on your reselling relationships.
You’d also earn
$40 $30 on your Chase Freedom card when using Chase Pay, making you a profit of $29.80 $22.35. If you have a premium Ultimate Rewards-earning card, you could instead convert your 10% cashback into 4,000 3,000 UR points.
Gift card sales also earn My Best Buy points, so you’d also earn between
$4 $3 and $10 $7.50 in Best Buy rewards depending on your status in their program.
