Chase seems to offer a transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy a couple of times per year and sure enough, they’ve returned today with a 50% increase in how many Marriott points you receive when transferring Ultimate Rewards. Even with the bonus though, this isn’t a very enticing opportunity.
The Deal
- Get a 50% bonus when transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires May 15, 2023 at 11:59pm EST.
Quick Thoughts
With this transfer bonus running for the next 2.5 months, there’s definitely no reason to transfer Ultimate Rewards to Marriott speculatively. Even more so because we’re anticipating there to be a devaluation in the next few weeks when Marriott removes the anchor on award pricing which could see some awards become ludicrously priced.
It’s that anticipated devaluation that might mean you want to take advantage of this transfer bonus though. With aspirational properties in particular likely having award prices skyrocket, you might want to lock in an award booking now and then cancel/rebook if pricing inexplicably goes down later this month once dynamic pricing fully kicks in. A 50% transfer bonus to Marriott still doesn’t represent great value for your Ultimate Rewards points, but if it’s the difference between being able to book your dream property or not having enough points in the future, it could make sense to transfer now.
Not all Ultimate Rewards accounts show this offer. My account won’t click through or display the offer.
The headline is correct, but in the post you’ve written “Get a 30% bonus”.
Oops, thanks – fixed it.
No article about Hyatt devaluation? That seems to be the story of the day or even the month. 🙁
That’s just about to go live.
