Quick Thoughts
Some of these brands are always available for large discounts elsewhere. For example, you can buy 4x $15 Krispy Kreme gift card multipacks from Costco for $44.99 any day of the year – a 25% discount.
15% is a great discount on many of these brands though, particularly Uber Eats and DoorDash. With Uber Eats, their gift cards can also be used with Uber, so this can save you 15% on Uber rides even though the Dollar General promotion is aimed at saving on dining.
Buying discounted Uber Eats gift cards also goes nicely with the Uber/Uber Eats benefit on Amex Platinum and Gold cards. Those $15 and $10 respective credits get added to your Uber/Uber Eats account and are automatically redeemed first. I like having an Uber Eats balance from discounted gift cards to then pay for the balance of any orders going over that credit amount each month.
As for DoorDash, saving 15% is good but it gets better when stacked with the DashPass benefit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. When placing a DoorDash order, in theory you have to pay with your Sapphire Reserve card in order to take advantage of the DashPass benefit. The exception is if you have a DoorDash gift card balance on your account, then you can pay entirely with gift cards but still receive DashPass benefits.
Thanks, Stephen, wish DG would rerun that $10 off $50 Uber gc’s from 2 yrs ago! Appreciate the great stacking tips with DD/Chase & UE/AMEX
