Excellent Award Availability To Dublin In Aer Lingus Business Class

13

There’s currently some great award availability on Aer Lingus if you’d like to fly to Dublin in business class.

The Deal

  • Book wide open award availability in business class to Dublin on Aer Lingus.

Key Terms

  • Fly from multiple US cities throughout the next year.

Quick Thoughts

Thrifty Traveler notes award availability from several US cities including New York JFK, Boston, Philadelphia and Toronto. The cheapest way of booking these flights should be directly with Aer Lingus at Avios.com. Good luck with that though because when trying to search for award availability there I kept getting the dreaded ‘Avios.com redirected you too many times’ error message. In the past that’s been an issue when trying to get to the search page in the first place, but this particular search page seems to bypass those issues when trying to originate a search. I was still successful in getting to that page, but when actually running a search it gave that ‘too many redirects’ error message.

I did run a couple of searches for award availability on the British Airways website which did indeed display some of that award availability for non-stop flights from JFK to Dublin.

The problem with booking with British Airways Avios though is that the taxes and fees are much higher than with Aer Lingus. With Aer Lingus you’re looking at 50,000-60,000 Avios (depending on time of year + ~$150 per person to Dublin. With British Airways on the other hand you’re looking at similar pricing in terms of Avios, but much higher taxes and fees of more than $730 per person.

If you happen to know of a good trick to avoid getting the Avios.com redirection error message when conducting searches, please let us know in the comments!

As for accommodation, we loved our stay at the Hyatt Centric The Liberties last summer – see my review here.
