Google Pixel watch back in stock at Dell (use of the Business Platinum credit)

On the podcast that published this morning, in discussion of alternative uses of the Business Platinum card‘s Dell credit, I mentioned that Dell.com carries the Google Pixel watch but that it had been out of stock. We recorded on Thursday, but I noticed yesterday that Dell has one color back in stock. Obviously this is only useful if you’d like a Pixel Watch, but with the popularity of wearables, I figured it was worth a quick highlight for those looking for a use of a Business Platinum card Dell credit.

The Deal

  • Dell.com sells the Google Pixel watch, but they’ve been out of stock. One color is back in stock and might make for a good use of a Business Platinum Dell credit or two
  • Links to the watches in the Quick Thoughts below are our affiliate links, but you can go through a shopping portal to earn rewards instead (just be sure to check the terms because some portals are paying out far less for everything but Alienware and XPS computers).

Quick Thoughts

Again, I know that this won’t be for everyone, but I was already kind of interested in a Pixel watch since Samsung seems to have sunset the ability to use Samsung Pay on my Samsung Gear S3. I really liked being able to pay with my watch without needing to take out my wallet or unlock my phone. I’m additionally hopeful to get back in better shape this year and separately I’d like to spend a little less time looking at my phone and a smart watch is convenient for both of those goals. I also just happen to be a general Pixel fanboy and I like the idea of a watch that should seamlessly integrate with the rest of my technology.

The only color in stock right now is my least favorite color, the Polished Silver Stainless Steel case with Charcoal Active band. Personally, I’d prefer the Champagne Gold Stainless Steel case with Hazel Active band or Matte Black Stainless Steel case with Obsidian Active band (the one with the one with the chalk band feels like it would get dirty far too easily), but there’s only so much time left to use a 2022 Dell credit.

Speaking of which, I wrote earlier this week about how part of the reason I picked up a new Business Platinum card was for a triple dip — I can get the calendar-year benefits like a Dell credit now (in December 2022) and then again in 2023 (once between January and June and once between July and December for Dell) and likely again one time in January 2024 before deciding whether to keep or cancel. That is to say that using it towards something I wanted anyway seems like an efficient use of that “bonus”.

For those unfamiliar, the Pixel Watch is currently on sale for $299.99 at most places that sell it. I have a targeted Google Store offer from Capital One for 15% back at the Google Store, so I could save $45 off the retail price that way. Instead, I could order through Dell and get $200 back (since I have enrolled in the benefit!). Alternatively, since my wife also has the Business Platinum card, we could split the charge over two cards to get $200 back on one and the balance of the cost of the watch on the other.
