Quick Thoughts

These constant Hilton promotions do make it easy to rack up a lot of Hilton points on paid stays. With this promo, you’ll earn 20x Hilton honors points per dollar spent at most brands before elite bonuses (10x at Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton).

However, many readers have Gold or Diamond status, which means an 80% or 100% bonus on base points (i.e. an extra 8 or 10 points per dollar) respectively.

That means a Gold member would earn 28x Hilton points per dollar or a Diamond member earns 30x.

If you then also pay with a Hilton credit card, you’re really earning a ton of Hilton points. For example, a Diamond member paying with a Hilton Aspire card would be earning a total of 44 Hilton points per dollar with this promo. Based on our Reasonable Redemption Value for Hilton points, that’s a return of nearly 20% in points (and that’s before the stay-based bonuses). If you’re additionally able to leverage one of the current Amex offers for Hilton, all the better.

Don’t forget to register before your first stay.

We’ve added this to our list of current hotel promotions.

Question: Say I have a paid stay coming up and it’s going to be $1000 (diamond paying with aspire). But it would otherwise be my first stay. At what price would it be worth it to squeeze in a single mattress run stay to get double points on the $1000 stay? I know the post says I’ll get 44000 points, but I’m not sure what I’d get without the promotion for comparison. Also, using two amex offers on the $1000 stay ($50 +$200 Hilton Resorts in Hawaii) plus $250 resort credit, so not sure if that affects the points earned or not. Thanks!

Josh

Would using a free night certificate from the aspire or ascend count as the first stay? Point stays are mentioned in the terms and conditions as an eligible stay but there’s no mention of the certificates. Thoughts?

I was thinking about using the free night certificate from the aspire and then hoping to get 2x on a “paid” stay using the 250$ credit.

Thanks!

Josh

Thanks for the quick response! Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too but “free stays” are ineligible according to the terms and conditions, whereas point stays count as reward stays. Not 100 % sure but I’ll probably still do it and hopefully it will work out.

My question as well. I have a stay coming up at the Rome Waldorf Astoria in August, eight nights, that will run about $4,500. Diamond status, 44X points, should work out to about 200,000 points. $1,200 worth of points isn’t a bad day.

Alex

No real mattress run potential here, huh (20 consecutive one night stays)? Even with aspire/diamond and amex offers attached; the bonuses only total to 45,000 hilton, which is maybe worth $225. Have a paid stayed coming up totaling about $1000 (triple stacking the two amex offers and resort credit) and would like to get double points on that.
