There are a number of excellent new Amex Offers available to those lucky enough to be targeted. Probably the best of the new offers are:
- Hyatt: Spend $200 or more, get $60 back. Expires 12/31/16
- Staples: Spend $100 or more, get $25 back. Expires 11/11/16
Most good Amex Offers are equivalent to 20% cash back when you exactly meet the spend requirement, but both of these offers are better than that. The Hyatt offer amounts to 30% back on $200, and the Staples offer amounts to 25% back on $100. The Staples offer is particularly easy to take advantage of since Staples offers a large selection of 3rd party gift cards both online and in-store. With Hyatt, it might be possible to buy a gift card at a Hyatt front-desk to earn the credit, but that doesn’t strictly meet the terms of the offer. Plus, Hyatt gift cards have been known to be hacked, repeatedly so that wouldn’t necessarily be a safe investment.
Unfortunately, both of these offers are very highly targeted. Out of 20 Amex cards in my family, I found the Hyatt offer on 3 of them, and the Staples offer on none (thanks to Doctor of Credit for details about the Staples offer, by the way).

Enrollment limited. Offer is non-transferable. Must add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem. Limit 1 statement credit(s) per American Express® online account. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2016, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. POID: CAZE:0001

Has anyone been able to purchase Hyatt gift cards with this deal during this offer? Which brand if you were?

Can you post the terms of the offer, or advise if it applies to Hyatt Grand Residences? Thanks!
Done. I’ve updated the post. “Excludes Hyatt Residence Club, Hyatt Vacation Club, Hyatt Travel, Hyatt Vacations and Hyatt at Home”
Same question as above for hyatt- single transaction or cumulative stays can count?
The T&C of some Amex Offers says “Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express online account”. But I have two cards in the same online account targeted. Does that mean I can only redeem this offer only once, on one of my two cards?
No, if you can get it loaded onto two cards (do the multi-tab trick), then you can get the credit twice
Greg, in order to take advantage of Hyatt offer do you have to charge $200 in a single transactions or it could be several charges totaling $200?
Thank you
It looks to me that it has to be done in a single transaction
