Update 2/6/23: Offers have been elevated onĀ both the consumerĀ and business versions of these cards. Our original post only included the consumer cards, but we have updated below to include business cards also.
This week, new offers have launched on several of the Delta SkyMiles credit cards. These offers could be a great way to build up your balance for one of the great Delta business class deals that still exist, and they may be more valuable to some given the new accompanying discount on award flights, though these offers won’t appeal to those chasing elite status.

Quick Thoughts
The Delta SkyMiles cards offer considerable value against the spending requirement even if you just use the miles towards flights at a value of around (or slightly above) 1 cent per mile. While you may be able to get even more miles by opening the right Membership Rewards card (since those points can transfer 1:1 to Delta), a Membership Rewards transfer to Delta may not be appealing because Amex charges an excise tax on transfers to US-based programs like Delta . Therefore, if your ultimate desire is Delta SkyMiles, these cards could be the best way to get them.
These new offers are certainly strong, particularly for those who intend to leverage some of the Best uses of Delta miles for strong value. On the other hand, if you’re chasing Delta elite status, you may want to hold off. This time around, the Platinum and Reserve card offers do not include bonus MQMs (the Gold card never does). If you’re after elite status, you may want to hold out for a different offer.
Still, given the new award discount for cardholders and elevated bonuses, these new offers certainly could be appealing.

That 15% discount off awards is just fantastic! On my up coming one way from Europe to ATL they offered me a business class redemption with the discount at only 345,500 miles. With a meager stash of only 300,000 Skymiles, I won’t be flying with them anytime soon.. On the other hand, United wanted 93,600 on their 787-10 so I’ll have to put up with their sub-par catering and instead try to sleep a lot in their decent Polaris seat. That’s why, although Atlanta based, I have 2,000,000 miles with AA and UA which I redeem regularly.
What is the all time best offers on these cards?
The personal reserve has a 125k + 10k MQM offer that frequently pops up in referrals.
Nick, there are also elevated offers on the business versions as well. 75-95-100. These levels also appear when referring. So, for those in two-player mode, add in another (say) 30k MR points per card. If both players snagged all three consumer cards, each would earn 360k combined Delta/MR points. Next year, when the offer comes up (and it will come up), do it on the business side. In total, a couple could garner 1.44 million combined Delta/MR points.
My wife and I have a short-hop route that we fly on Delta about 8 times a year. First class. Between the consumer and business offers, the points will cover two and a half years of these flights. Also, I have a circle of family and friends whom I coach and manage a “referral club.” They’ll be benefiting from this as well. From all of us, thanks for the tip.
Yes, Delta points are on the low end of the value scale. And, yes, based on my observations, Delta had a devaluation on my route at the same time it added the 15 percent discount benefit. But, in the end, my wife and I are still getting the 2.5 years of flights. Again, thanks for the tip.
These “elevated” offers…aren’t. There was a publicly available (but unadvertised) offer I got on the Delta Platinum in mid-December for 90,000 miles + 10k MQMs. The normal offer then was 50,000 miles + 5k MQMs, but all one had to do was search with a “fresh” browser and you’d find that higher offer; incognito mode was unnecessary. I found it pretty consistently that day and a few days after I snagged it, with a sense of wonder and astonishment thinking it was too good to be true. Oh, and it only required $3k spend in 6 months. Not the greatest offer ever sold, but pretty high up IMO.
I cannot imagine how much 70k points is worth. Maybe an economy ticket in the US. For Busuness Class travel around the world like used to? Multiply by 10.
