(EXPIRED) SoFi Money Offering 20% Back On DoorDash & Streaming Entertainment

SoFi has launched a new promotion that’s helpful given people’s increased usage of streaming services and food delivery right now. Until the end of June, they’re offering 20% cashback when paying for DoorDash and most of the main streaming services with your SoFi Money account.

The Deal

  • SoFi Money Members who wish to participate in the Program are required to opt-in by adding their SoFi Money debit card number to their DoorDash account and use it to pay for food deliveries ordered through the DoorDash website or app.
  • Promotion Period: The Promotion will be available for a three-month term between 3/23/2020 at 12AM PT and 6/30/2020 at 11:59PM PT.
  • Eligible Participants: A SoFi Member with a SoFi Money account funded with at least $50, who resides within the United States and is also a user of DoorDash.
  • Eligible Transactions: Only DoorDash order transactions, using a SoFi Money debit card, posted during the Promotion Period are eligible for cash back under the terms of the Program.
  • DashPass subscription transactions are excluded.
  • Cash Back Terms: For each eligible transaction posted during the Promotion Period, Members will receive a credit to their SoFi Money Card equal to 20% of the transaction charges to their SoFi Money debit card (“Cash Back”). Only DoorDash order transactions are eligible for Cash Back under the Program. DashPass subscription transactions are excluded. Cash Back earned will in each case be rounded up to the nearest cent. SoFi will offer Eligible Participants 20% cash back on all DoorDash transactions posted on SoFi Money debit cards, up to the applicable cap on each Eligible Participant’s aggregate order amount as follows: New SoFi Money Members = $500 (with a maximum cap on cashback bonus of $100). Current SoFi Money Members = $200 (with a maximum cap on cashback bonus of $40).
  • Cash Back credits can be delayed by up to 14 business days. SoFi is not liable for payment delays caused by DoorDash or any third- party vendors. SoFi reserves the right to exclude any Members from participating in the Program for any reason, including suspected fraud, misuse, or if suspicious activities are observed. SoFi also reserves the right to stop or make changes to the Program at any time.
• Streaming Entertainment Terms:
  • You may register your SoFi Money debit card with multiple Eligible Merchants.
  • Promotion Period: The Program will be available for a three-month term between 3/23/2020 at 12AM PT and 6/30/2020 at 11:59PM PT.
  • Eligible Participants: The Program is open to all SoFi Members with a SoFi Money account, who reside within the United States and subscribe to a product or service offered by an Eligible Merchant. Eligible Merchants: Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Spotify, HBO Now, Amazon Prime Video, CBS All Access, Pandora Music, and Google Music.
  • Eligible Transactions: Ongoing monthly subscription payments with Eligible Merchants, using a SoFi Money debit card and posted during the Promotion Period, are eligible for cash back under the terms of the Program.
  • Cash Back Terms: For each eligible transaction posted during the Promotion Period, Members will receive a credit to their SoFi Money account equal to 20% of the transaction charges to their SoFi Money debit card (“Cash Back”). Cash Back earned will in each case be rounded up to the nearest cent. Cash Back credits may take up to 14 business days after the eligible transactions are posted. There is a maximum aggregate cap on cashback bonuses of $75 per Member for this Program.
  • SoFi is not liable for payment delays caused by named merchants or any third-party vendors. SoFi reserves the right to exclude any Members from participating in the Program for any reason, including suspected fraud, misuse, or if suspicious activities are observed. SoFi also reserves the right to stop or make changes to the Program at any time.

Quick Thoughts

SoFi Money was already offering 20% cashback on your Netflix subscription, but this offer is even better because a) enrollment for that offer has now closed, b) it’s due to expire in May and c) several more streaming services are eligible than only Netflix.

Most of these streaming services offer a free trial for the first month or so, so this 20% cashback offer is good once that trial period has expired. With a limit of $75 back for streaming services, you’ll max this out when spending $375 before the end of June. I’m not sure how much each of the different services cost per month, but even if you’re subscribed to all of them I imagine you’d be hard-pressed to reach that limit within three months.

One service that’s not included with this offer is Showtime. If you have a Showtime subscription, Best Buy is offering a 20% instant discount on their gift cards, so that’s a great alternative.

With the DoorDash deal, you’re limited to $40 in cashback if you’re an existing SoFi Money member and $100 cashback for new members. If using Dashpass is important for you, you might be better off paying with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card due to that card’s DoorDash/DashPass benefit.
