American Express has launched a new feature for some Amex Offers which has limited appeal right now, but could be useful if it means you can access some targeted offers in the future.

The feature they’ve added is that some Amex Offers are now shareable. When scrolling through your list of offers, you’ll see it say ‘Share Offer’ beneath the ‘Add to Card’ box for some offers. When expanding the offer, it’ll display a URL for the offer that you can copy and share.

That URL takes the recipient to a landing page for the offer. For example, the link for the Shutterfly offer takes them to this page where they can add the offer.

At first I figured that this was just a glorified version of the Amex Connect site and would only let you share offers that were available to all cardholders anyway.

However, when checking through my Amex Offers I noticed at least one or two offers that aren’t currently available on Amex Connect, including this Hive Brands one.

It’d therefore be nice if this feature gets rolled out on more Amex Offers in the future, especially if it becomes available on better, targeted offers like the latest Best Buy Amex Offer.

Note that there’s no incentive for sharing an Amex Offer link beyond being helpful. The link is a generic URL and so if someone happens to subsequently apply for an Amex card after using the Amex Offer shareable link, you won’t receive bonus points/miles like you would if they applied via a specific referral link.

[…] Hat tip to Frequentmiler […]

Had not heard of Amex Connect, so I took a look at it. Pretty similar to looking at offers on CC page. Is there a difference? Seems like Amex is “spreading out” and making us work harder (CC page offers, shop small offers, Amex Connect offers…)

Interested to know if others are experiencing this as well. I am a secondary on Business Blue card with my husband. In the last few weeks I am unable to use offers he has clicked on the Blue on my Gold card as a result even though he is not a secondary on my Gold card.
