While others have taken the low road during this campaign for your #StayCaytoFarAway votes, my integrity demands I go high when they go low. With this as your final chance to cast a vote, consider my heartfelt story below…
When the Frequent Miler team began discussing how to adapt our annual challenge amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, no one knew the challenges of this virus more intimately than I, as I nervously checked the boxes of the coronavirus symptoms. While tests weren’t readily available in Austin at the time, a quick triage call pointed to Corona virus as the most likely culprit.
With my first video challenge already on the calendar, I warned the team about my lingering symptoms.
“Should we postpone?” they asked.
But my unwavering team spirit wold not allow it. “No! Let’s not delay!” I encouraged, “Onward and Upward!”
I’d hoped this team spirit would spread, but at the start of this week, Stephen Pepper gave in to campaign pressures, releasing a slanderous smear campaign against me and others.
Worst of all, his campaign worked! As is too often the case in today’s world, he went low and was rewarded for it with a sudden surge of votes.
Disheartened, I first sought help from influencers who had been vocal throughout the campaign.
First, I went to Conrad, Reyes University’s youngest graduate and internet darling. No luck.
Then, recognizing my historic ability to secure the dog vote, I went to the popular instagram influencer, Truffles for help. No luck.
Finally, at the end of my rope, I went back to my own roots and shared my discouragement with my own family. Disadvantaged by the coronavirus then slandered by my own teammate, I didn’t know what to do. My tender niece took heart and hatched a genius campaign plan.
Grassroots campaigns like this deserve your vote more than the mudslinging my competitors have brought to the table. I say when they go low, we go high! Vote “Aunt Carrie” for #StayCaytoFarAway champion!
Vote now, it’s your last chance!!
