Quick Thoughts
Some Just For U deals on Visa gift cards require that you buy $100 or $50 fixed-value gift cards – this isn’t one of those. Provided you spend at least $100, you’ll get the $10 instant discount which means that this works on variable load Visa gift cards.
That’s great for a couple of reasons. First, you’ll make $4.05 profit which is more than you earn with the fixed-value deals as those require that you pay two purchase fees rather than one from this offer.
Second, it means you can buy a $500 Visa gift card which increases the bonused spend opportunity when paying with a card that earns more at grocery stores.
I think Safeway et al sell MetaBank Visa gift cards; if so, be aware that there have been issues liquidating them at Walmart.

Variable load Visa gift cards have a purchase fee of $5.95, so the $10 discount means that after accounting for that fee you make a $4.05 profit.
As for the $500 card, many people have a card which earns more points at grocery stores. If you were to load $150 on the Visa gift card your profit would still only be $4.05, but you’d earn far fewer bonus points than loading it with $500.
Stephen, any DP on Amex platinum 10x with a large-denomination variable load cards? I’ve had success (so far, anyway) with up to $200 (2 x $100) in fixed value cards.

The link still does not work for me. It defaults to a CA store and shows my store as “Previously shopped”. When I select it, it reverts to the CA store.
Install the brand-appropriate app on your phone and then you will be able to see all the gift card offers and “add” them to your account so that they’re applied when you shop.

I thought you can’t liquidate these at Walmart anymore due to their new policy?
The policy itself isn’t hard coded – it’s just a case that if an employee thinks you’re MSing then they can refuse to sell you a money order. The bigger issue is the swipe limit at Walmart.
I use these to “move” my grocery store spending from Safeway to Costco, where I prefer to shop. The cards work great at Costco.
