In the midst of the seemingly unending series of massive targeted offers for the Business Platinum and Business Gold cards that we’ve been seeing lately, there is also another targeted offer available for the Blue Business Plus (BBP) card. Those folks that are targeted will earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in purchases in the first 12 months and an additional 10,000 Membership Rewards points after adding an employee card and spending $1,000 within the first 12 months.  The $1,000 on the employee card will count towards the $15,000 total spend.

P2 was targeted via pop-up this morning, but I found that I was targeted using the same link, even though I didn’t have pop-up on my account.

This isn’t the best offer that we’ve seen for the Blue Business Plus as we recently saw a similar offer for 75,000 MR rewards. That said, it is very good compared to what’s been available historically. The application terms for the offer do not seem to include typical once-in-a-lifetime language, so even if you have had the card before, you should be eligible for the welcome bonus (if targeted).

The Deal

  • Earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after $15,000 in purchases within the first 12 months after approval for a new Blue Business Plus card and an additional 10,000 Membership Rewards points after adding an employee card and spending $1,000 within the first 12 months.
  • Expires 1/31/23

Link to log in and see if you are targeted (log-in to Amex account first, then click the link, then click “apply now”)

You will need to log-in, then click the “apply” button to see if you’re targeted. If you don’t see the bonus on the landing page and/or get a message that says something along the lines of “Sorry, this offer is no longer available”, that means you’re not targeted.

Quick Thoughts

This is one of the best offers that we’ve seen for for this card. The Blue Business Plus doesn’t usually have a welcome bonus except when applying via a referral link, and then it’s typically only been 10,000-15,000 bonus points after $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.

I’m a big fan of the Blue Business Plus. The card earns 2x on all spend (up to $50K in purchases per calendar year). That makes it a terrific “everywhere else” card for people who value Membership Rewards points. Also, it’s a useful backstop card since it has no annual fee but keeps Membership Rewards points alive and transferable to partners. Thus, there’s never any worry about cancelling a MR-earning card and losing points.

By meeting the terms of this bonus, you would end up with a total of 90,000 points in the first year between the normal 2x on the first $15K in purchases and the 60k welcome bonus. That’s effectively 6x MR on $15K spending anywhere over one year with no annual fee…a terrific return for a low monthly spend requirement and no annual fee.

I just got this offer via pop-up but only 5k MR for adding an employee.
55k today for $15k spend (so I guess 85k total) is not that great.

Tony

Happy to finally have this card. Applied 1/31. Had seen it offered when logging in but then it disappeared. Appreciate the link.

Also, reading FM more often. Enjoying the content.

Milan

I saw this offer on my AMEX offers tab but was doing something else. When I went back it was gone. Chatted and even called AMEX and they said they can’t honor it. Man I’m kicking myself for not stopping what I was doing.

Ooops signed up for this and then realized that the BBP has a foreign transaction fee of 2.7%. I guess that about offsets the 2X points but at $15,000 spend thats a lot of FFT just for 60k amex points. What to do? The spend i have lined up is all foreign….

I have just got a new Plat Business card a couple of weeks ago. Now this offer comes up … is it a trap? Normally one needs to wait 91 days.

Frank

Oh, that’s news to me. I have a Plat card coming up for renewal every 3 months, so by that token I could reduce it to every 2 months … I was planning on downgrading the current expiring one to this BBP. Maybe I should just try to grab this blue card now – it will at least let me know for sure about the 91 days.

Also, if I add an AU and wait 3 months, will I be able to transfer points to the AU’s airlines? Or, in other words, can one transfer points from this BBP card if one had no other Amex transferable cards – unlike Chase with their transferable cards?

Frank

Is there a limit to how many of these “no limit cards” at the same time? Do you know anyone who has more than 7?

Jack

Just wondering
I could open up 2 cards and get the bonus twice? Along with the employee card.
If I spend 50k on both cards I’ll get 100k MR points for each card per the 2 points per dollar.
Plus the bonus of 60k MR points on each card plus the 10k MR points for each employee card.
170 MR points per card
Total 340K MR points!

Barry

I already have a BBP. I applied with this offer and was approved for the card using the same business credentials as the original card. Wasn’t sure if AMEX would let me have more than one of the same card.

Linda Ramsey

I do not have any MR earning cards and my only Amex is a Delta Gold. Does that mean I am out of much for these targeted offers? This blue card seems line a great entry level Amex.

vto

It says “this offer is no longer available” ….sadly

slaven

now that i just about finished spending on my 100k NLL biz gold, i was going to sign up for my targeted 75k blue business plus offer. sadly that offer got pulled and replaced with this subpar one, so will pass.

after a yr of non stop amex MR accumulation, i guess will have to move my spending over to another undetermined biz card, perhaps the Capital One Spark Travel Elite. other ideas?

tom

This link is for business cash. Is there another one out there for BBP? thx

Lukas

Link points to BBP for me *shrug*

Ryan Dulaney

I’m targeted, but it shows up as blue biz cash with that link

Dick Bupkiss

Me too. Offer is for $500 statement credit for $15K spend + $100 statement cfredit for employee card and $1K spend on that. Hard pass.

Lukas

I’m targeted, nice. Though I’m spoiled by the constant Business Platinum offers (I’m on my card #5) which offer over 10 MR points per dollar.

Frank

But the Blue one is a keeper with no annual fee.

Mary Jane

I was referring to the last paragraph…

Mary Jane

Tim, I think you meant to type 60,000 welcome bonus instead of 75,000, right?
