Introducing a new resource page: Chase Transfer Partners. This page lists all of the options for transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to airline and hotel loyalty programs. The page is divided into sections: Best Transfer Partners, Other Transfer Partners, and Indirect Transfer Partners. The Best Transfer Partners list includes a brief summary of why I consider each transfer to be worthwhile. The Other Transfer Partners list includes an explanation of why I don’t recommend these transfers. And the Indirect Transfer Partners list details several ways to move points to one loyalty program and then to another.
Creating the page reminded me why I’m such a fan of Chase’s Ultimate Rewards program. Every single airline partner has good to great uses. The same is not true of Chase’s hotel partners, but I love the ability to transfer points to Hyatt. I’ve enjoyed amazing vacations that were made possible by this feature alone…
There was the Andaz Papagayo which we booked for just 15,000 points per night (at the time, the paid rate was nearly $1,500 per night!):
And the Hyatt Carmel Highlands which we booked for 12,500 points plus $150 per night:
And the Grand Hyatt Santiago for only 8,000 points per night. Sadly, this hotel will no longer be a Hyatt as of August 1, 2017:
I could go on and on. I’ve used Hyatt points to stay at the Andaz Maui, the Park Hyatt Vendome, the Park Hyatt Zurich, the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress (many times)…
Earning Ultimate Rewards
Fortunately, there are also many ways to earn Ultimate Rewards points:
- Signup bonuses
- Referrals
- Category bonuses
- Gift cards
- Bill payments
- Shop through Chase
Each of the above methods are detailed in the post “Amassing Ultimate Rewards.”
Spending Ultimate Rewards
Transferring Ultimate Rewards to airline and hotel partners is not the only good use for points. You can also get good value paying with points, especially if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card which offers 1.5 cents per point value when paying with points for travel. Nick documented real world examples of each use of Ultimate Rewards in his recent post “Spending those amassed Chase Ultimate Rewards.” Please check it out!
