Help Wanted: Join the FM team!

Update: We have selected a new candidate.  As a result, we are no longer accepting new applications.

We are looking to add another writer to the Frequent Miler team!  We’re looking for a points/travel/deals enthusiast to work 20 to 40 hours per week for Frequent Miler.  This would be a contract position.  Specific wages are negotiable, and will depend upon the applicant’s qualifications.

Duties

  • Actively keep up to date with the latest happenings in travel / points & miles / deals by monitoring forums and blogs, etc.
  • Author and publish Quick Deals.  These would include travel deals, award deals, gift card deals, etc.
  • Author, publish, and maintain resource pages.  Examples include our airline & hotel loyalty program guides: AA, Delta, Southwest, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, etc.
  • Actively maintain our Best Offers database.  Regularly test credit card application links and replace when broken.  Publish better Best Offers as soon as possible after they are discovered.
  • Maintain affiliate links.  Handle affiliate compliance issues.
  • Maintain referral links.
  • And miscellaneous other stuff to be determined.

Other important info about the position

There is no physical Frequent Miler office.  You would work from home, coffee shops, libraries, lounges, etc.  The team meets weekly over Zoom, but communicates many times per day through a team Slack and email.

We would prefer someone to start soon, but we will consider a great applicant who can’t start right away.

Here are some characteristics we’re hoping to find:

  • Enthusiasm for points and miles
  • Willingness to work odd hours dictated by circumstance
  • Excellent writing skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Fun to work with

How to Apply

Please click here to fill out an online application.

Please be patient after submitting your application.  We don’t have a set timeframe for picking an applicant.

Sounds like a joy! If you’re looking for someone about 10 hours a week let me know 😀

Joseph N.

Wow, what a turnaround. Considering what FM’s revenue stream looked like 12-18 months ago, who would’ve thought you’d be in need of more workers in 2021?

Sounds fun, but the holidays are coming up. No way I could commit 20-40 hours every week to FM during the holidays.

With terms(on call 24/7) like that the pay should start @ $100k plus stock options too.

Cavedweller

Why don’t u ASK a few to post with out putting their names out there. Like X,Y or Z posts these people may want a Real job someday..

Sadly I could never pass the background check (my post history).

HChris

Since it’s a contract position, would U.S. work authorization be required or can you pay out as business expense instead of salary, thus making internationals eligible too?

SamBam

You didn’t mention what the stock option package might look like. Vesting schedule, PTO, and AU cards spending limits???

Where were you guys 40 years ago?

(Yeah, yeah — Greg was in elementary school and Nick wasn’t born).

Nick Reyes

LOL. I’m flattered that you would think that as would be Greg.

Nick Reyes

Or should I be insulted? 🙂

Captain Greg

Tempting to apply….but P2 would murder me.

Nick Reyes

Can confirm that P2 has wanted to murder me multiple times. Most of them haven’t had anything to do with Frequent Miler.

Captain Greg

Yea, this would def be for trying to get a job at FM as opposed to making use of the PhD I just got.

Maybe I should argue that I would be the only person on the team qualified to understand the Marriott credit card bonus eligibility matrix??

Fathiss

I’m in! When can you let me know my starting date?

Anonymous

Not an applicant. Once you have hired someone I would love to see the best answers to your questions.

Andy

Also the worst ones 😀
