Quick Thoughts
All of these deals represent good savings for personal use, with some potentially being worthwhile for gift card resellers.
Kroger is also offering 4x fuel points when buying third party gift cards, so be sure to load that digital coupon to your account beforehand as well if you hadn’t already done so. Those fuel points can be redeemed to save up to 14% on gas, so with some of these gift card deals offering 20% off, you could potentially save 1/3 on gift cards if you can max out those fuel points savings. That’s even before taking into account the additional rewards you can earn by paying with a card that earns more at grocery stores.
If you’re planning on buying $100 worth of Happy gift cards to save $10, note that the terms of that digital coupon say that you’ll save $10 on your grocery purchase. I’m not sure if that’s actually enforced or not, but it’s probably worth buying with at least $10 worth of groceries at the same time just in case. None of the other deals have that requirement though – only the Happy gift card offer.

I purchased a few of the US Bank Variable Visa GCs and have had a difficult time spending them. Their website is also frequently down. As soon as I can find a way to work down the balance on the cards I have, I will no longer do these cards. Has anyone else had a different experience?
Do credit cards categorize kroger.com as groceries? Amex Everyday?
If you’re ordering groceries from Kroger online, I think they do recognize it as a grocery purchase. If you’re referring to buying gift cards from Kroger online, the answer is no because those payments are processed by Blackhawk Network. These gift card deals are all in-store though, so you can’t take advantage of the deals online.
