This was a good episode, but I think our perceptions of certain FF programs are stuck. Since AS-HA merged, I don’t think AS partner availability has been great, and beyond transatlantic, its not as great anymore (e.g., travel on Qatar, Singapore, JAL, CX). I realize that the FP team (and most Americans perhaps) care a lot about TATL travel, so perhaps that is why. But overall, I think AS-MP program has been going down.

Same with Aeroplan and Lifemiles.

But UA-MP I think should be viewed as on the up. The new availability for credit card holders is great, and MP also gets expanded availability on LH group airlines and ANA. So its becoming easier to book Star awards via United, and Aeroplan/Lifemiles have been raising award costs so its not much cheaper to book via those programs (if you can find ANA/LH/UA awards there, which is unlikely).

Bilt transfer partners to add: Singapore and LHW.

How come Nick did not review the U. S. Bank transferable points program? 😛

Megan

Not sure if Nick was referring to a hack or something, but generally, you cannot pay mortgage on the Atmos Card and get Bilt points, only rent.

Nick: “What transfer partner would you like to see that Bilt doesn’t already have?”
Greg: “I think then you’re getting into niche programs.”
