Bilt Rewards has announced its Rent Day promos for December, 2023 and, because of Black Friday, this month’s promotions start today, 11/23.

The headliner of the monthly promotion is that Bilt cardholders will be able to earn 2x rewards everywhere on up to $20,000 in purchases (except rent) between 11/23 and 11/27. In addition, Bilt members will receive an extra 10x at restaurants that participate in Bilt Dining between 11/24 and 12/1. Including December 1st means that, if you go to a Bilt dining restaurant that day, you’ll earn 16x (because then 6x Rent Day dining multiplier will stack with the 10x).

Bilt cardholders will once again have the opportunity to earn 2x points on purchases on Rent Day (up to 10,000 bonus points), will be able to get a SoulCycle class for free and have opportunities to register for a chance to get their rent paid. Points Quest Trivia will also be back again.

Quick Thoughts

This year, Bilt has had a series of terrific Rent Day promos including a 100% transfer bonus to Hawaiian Airlines, a 100% transfer bonus to Flying Blue and a Hyatt Globalist fast track.

The December promos aren’t as exciting. Bilt Rewards is a valuable transfer currency with some unique partners (like American Airlines), but getting 2x for 5 days effectively gives it the same earnings rate as we see on other cards everyday, like the Capital One Venture Rewards and Venture X, Citi Double Cash and Amex Blue Business Plus. You might like Bilt Rewards more (and I might agree with you), but 2x for five days probably wouldn’t make me binge shop on the card if I had one.

10x on Bilt Dining is a great deal, if you happen to be going to one of the those restaurants over the next week (or have a plan to). This is open to Bilt Rewards members who aren’t cardholders, but the selection near me is sparse and expensive. Still, if this works for you, it’s a no-brainer.

The rest of the promotions are the usual Rent Day fare. For cardholders, the Rent Day spending offers makes the 1st of the month the ideal time to hit your 5 transaction minimum in order to earn points on rent and/or all of your card purchases, so don’t forget to bust it out on December 1st.

Good time to enjoy the Hobby. My Bilt card will be living in my sock drawer for the next year. 2x Bilt points on rent day is not as good as 3X UR points on Freedom Unlimited.

Paul5795

On rent day Bilt earns 6x on DIning and 4x on Travel. No way is my Bilt card going into my sock drawer in favor of the Freedom Unlimited, at least for travel and dining on rent day. In fact, I buy a gift certificate to my favorite restaurant using the Bilt MC every rent day, and then use the cert later in the month. Yeah, 6x baby.

DSK

Ah . . . Freedom Unlimited is 6x dining every day for a year. Same as Bilt but only on rent day. No need for gift certificates. Hope this helps.

Paul5795

So you just recently applied for and received the Freedom Unlimited on a special offer that includes time-limited increased bonuses. I myself have had the Freedom Limited for years, and so am not eligible for the special offer. So no, doesn’t help me at all — but congrats that you were able to use the offer.

If you don’t have to be a cardholder to get the Bilt 10x dining deal, does that mean if I link my Chase Sapphire Reserve card to my Bilt account and pay for the meal with the Chase card, I will get both 10x Bilt points and 3x Ultimate Reward points?

Anish

Yes. That is essentially what I’ll be doing.

Brent

Yes. Everyone should have a Bilt account, even if you lack the card. You can also pick up a few points on Lyft rides that way.

For 12/1/23 spend, does paying your quarterly fed taxes work (this is a general question)? Has someone on the FM tried it and have it work?

In my case, on the day I pay, it goes pending and after several days, the transaction is executed. The day I pay, doesn’t necessarily show as the day I paid until several days later.

I don’t have the card, but do you get 2x on the first of each month if you pay your fed taxes?

fredwooch

It worked for me earlier this year. I made sure to pay early in the morning and the transaction date showed as that same date even though it posted a day later.

DSK

Absolutely. It triggers on the date you enter the payment. I have done this with federal and state taxes as well as local property taxes. It has never failed to record at 2x, even on weekends and holidays.

GBSanDiego

Awesome…,thank you!!
