Chase Ink Business Preferred Offer: 100K Ultimate Rewards points with almost half the spend (Chase matching offer)

55

Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?

Follow along here!

Update 7/6/23: As soon as this offer came out, we received a ton of questions from folks who had recently signed-up for the Ink Business Preferred under the old offer with the $15K minimum spend, asking if Chase would match them to this new offer. We’ve now heard several reports that Chase is matching many folks to this $8K offer, reducing their required minimum spend by $7K. If you’re in that situation, give Chase a call. h/t DOC

Update 7/5/23: The referral welcome offer for the Chase Ink Business Preferred card now reflects the lower $8,000 spending requirement. Chase seems to be offering 40,000 Ultimate Rewards for the referrer, so that’s 140,000 total points that can be earned if you refer your partner. You can generate your own referral links here, but please don’t leave your referral links here as they’ll get caught in the spam filter; we don’t have a referral thread on Facebook either. h/t Justin

~

The standard welcome offer on the Chase Ink Business Preferred card has been 100,000 Ultimate Rewards on $15K spend for some time now. Today, Chase drastically reduced the required minimum spend all the way down to $8,000, while maintaining the offer at 100K Ultimate Rewards points. This, of course, makes it an even sweeter deal. So sweet, in fact, that it’s currently ranked as the best Chase business card (by first year value) on our Best Offers page.

Quick Thoughts

Any opportunity to earn 100,000 Ultimate Rewards is terrific and the decreased spend requirement will make it much easier for many people to reach it here. The old welcome offer was 100,000 Ultimate Rewards after $15,000 of spend, so this new offer gives you the same points but requires $7,000 less.

However, if you have someone in your household that already has an Ink card, it might be better to wait to see if the referral offer changes in the coming days. If the referral offer changes to this 100k/$8k offer, you could earn 100,000 Ultimate Rewards while your family member could pick up 40,000 Ultimate Rewards for referring you. (All my referrals are still the old 100K/$15K offer).

Note that although this card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule, although you won’t be adding to your 5/24 count if you’re approved for it due to the Chase Ink Business Preferred card being a business card rather than a personal card. Learn how to check your 5/24 status here.

I have excellent credit score with 2 Ink Cash (since 2017) and 1 Ink Unlimited (June 2022) for real estate business expense. I’ve applied for this card via a friend’s referral link this morning and it went to review.
Will call Chase Business customer service at 1-800-453-9719 for application status affect my friend’s referral bonus if the card is approved after the call? Thanks in advance.

Matt

Thanks so much to all of you. 😉

Everyone still getting the 40K referral to work? My partner’s referral is showing 40K but it shows “offer not available” when I use it, and shows the same thing for my link to my partner as well. Any idea?

Curtis

I just generated and clicked one of my own and seems ok. Takes me to an application page where I X’d out.

Christopher May

I’m at 6/24. I applied, it went to review, and I was approved in less than 12 hours.

Sally Mae

Likely not actually 6/24. You would have been hard denied and you would have needed to call Chase recon.

Christopher May

You caught me. I was trying to give everyone a false data point so people would apply and get rejected. Or – and follow me here – I actually do know how to count to six, especially with help from the Travel Freely app that I’ve used for a long time.

Kayexalate

Best response ever!!

Curtis

Did you get an email saying approved or did you call the automated number to find out?

Christopher May

It was pretty quick. I applied Tuesday evening and got an email Wednesday morning. I checked my Chase app and the card was there. I was approved for the Ink Business Cash back in March and was higher than my current 6/24. That time there were a lot of data points that Chase was approving people who were over 5/24. No idea if they are doing the same this time. It’s possible I just slipped through somehow but I am definitely over 5/24.

[…] FM notes that the Ink Business Preferred’s 100,000 Ultimate Rewards bonus after spending $8,000 in three months is also available via referral links, so if you’re going to apply the card use a link from a friend or another player. […]

I got declined. Called consideration, they said two many CC’s opened within two years, violating 5/24 rule. Are you guys absolutely sure Business CC’s do not count towards 5/24 ? I double checked. I have only 3 personal CC’s opened, and a bunch of BSN, including 3 from Chase.

CericRushmore

Business cards don’t count against 5/24, but you can be decline for other reasons. Agents often just throw reasons out there.

Jed

Some bizz cards do count, depends on the issuing bank. I think Cap1 and discover, maybe a few others

EruptingLoowit

They don’t, with a couple of exceptions noted below. AU accounts count for auto approvals/denials & need to be clarified in recon.

I got an email from Chase in the morning about referral offer up to 200k UR points. Clicked the link and found new offer for Ink Preferred. We used it and applied the card for my wife. Hope it will be approved. 100k/$8k spending + 40k bonus is very sweet deal.

Sally Mae

Ink Cash is a better value for me since I already have the Ink Preferred. You can snail mail chase to get them to honor the 90k offer for $6k spend, plus the 40k referral. On top of that you are getting 5x back compared to 3x back. You would only get 18k versus 30k points based on the $6k in spend, plus you would pay $95 annual fee, and spend an extra $2k to meet the SUB. Ink cash would make the most sense.

The current offer for Ink cash is 75k point, not 90k. In addition, there is no limit for owning Ink cards, so we can apply it later.

Teebone23

75k is the public offer, but I’ve been approved for 3 ink cash cards in the past 3 months now and have always been able to have the rep add another 15k UR points to my account after I requested it. Bottom line is that you missed out on some extra UR earnings.

Sally Mae

The problem is this dude jumps on a deal like it’s the best thing ever in reality he has no idea how to maximize his bonuses. Let’s just leave it at that. It’s still a good offer, just not the best

JoshyB

Check your emails. I got an email this morning for a new referral link. This one includes the new $8K spend requirement for the Ink Preferred.

The link copied directly from my Chase profile still requires the $15K spend though.

SamBam

I see referral of 40k. In two player mode this is an insane return on spend.

Kayexalate

If both P2 and I currently hold this card and also have both had it 2 other times in the past (but later downgraded to freedom flex). Can we get this again (one of us referring another)? I got the SUB in May. P2 got the last SUB in 1/22

EruptingLoowit

Yes.

Dav

Reffeal still shows 15k for me

“Note that although this card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule, although you won’t be adding to your 5/24 count if you’re approved for it due to the Chase Ink Business Preferred card being a business card rather than a personal card.”

You might consider deleting the first “although” 🙂

Mark

Can you get the card again if you already have it?

Josh

yes

Bob

Yes, I churn these cards all the time under different llcs and sometimes get different variations of ink under same llc then transfer credit limit to one card before the renewal date. Usually won’t go over 100k credit limit on one card though.

Kim

I am at 2/24, should I apply for the CSP or this one first?

John

If you’re going to apply for the CSP, why not MDD? You’ll be left at 4/24 and can still get biz cards

Mark Fink

I am seeing the 40K refer a friend offer – time to pounce!

Greg The Frequent Miler

Yes you will get 40k but at the moment the offer your friend gets isn’t as good: it requires $15k spend. It’s worth waiting a bit until Chase fixes the refer a friend offers so they match the offer to get 100k points after $8k spend.

Mark Fink

Is there a way to tell from the refer a friend offer page, or is it only when the link gets used that it is made clear?

Greg The Frequent Miler

I don’t think you can see it directly, but it’s easy enough to grab the referral link and try it yourself to see what offer comes up.

Mark Fink

I see – I’ll keep checking the referral URL to see if/when it changes.

CericRushmore

It is updated now.

Mark Fink

Success – I generated a link for my wife, applied this morning, and she got approved!!!
