Homes & Villas by Marriott is running a double points promo. Instead of the usual 5 points per dollar, you’ll earn 10. Note that 10 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar is the usual rate for most Marriott properties, so this promo is simply bringing the earning rate up to par, temporarily.

My Take
During the global pandemic, many have found that vacation rental homes are a good and safe way to vacation. To the extent that Marriott’s solution fits your needs, it can be a good choice. In a previous analysis (here), I found that Marriott sometimes charged more than competing websites for the exact same properties. In cases where they far overcharge, I don’t recommend booking through Homes & Villas. That said, sometimes Marriott was cheaper. If the Marriott price is similar or better than competing websites, then it absolutely makes sense to earn points and elite nights from these stays by booking through Marriott.
