Any DP’s if 1 $500 Viator purchase will get you all $50 on Amex or if it has to be 2 separate purchases?
Stephen, if you were “done” with the Chase ecosystem but wanted to preserve your credit line, which single Chase-issued card would you hold? (Consider the Ritz Carlton and other cobranded cards as eligible candidates.). Thanks.
Are you intending to not use the card whatsoever? If so, it’s probably not worth picking the Ritz Carlton card due to its annual fee. If you would want to make use of the cert, the $300 credit, Priority Pass, etc. though, that could be a good option.
If you have a Hyatt card and want to still have the option to spend your way to Globalist status, that’s a good alternative.
Otherwise, keeping (or downgrading to) a Freedom Flex could be the best option. That would maintain any existing Ultimate Rewards points you have, it’d have no annual fee, plus you’d be able to upgrade to a Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve in the future if you wanted/needed.
Thanks. We’ve transferred all of our UR points. And, rather than simply storing a UR-based card in our sock drawer unused, the Ritz Carlton card could be put to use. Thanks for your thoughts.
Sent 78k Cap1 to Emirates in hopes that I can upgrade my September Milan flight. Worst case, we’ll have to go to Athens in 2027 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Did Capital One > Emirates. Thanks for the reminder.
Missed a big one – Chase 25% transfer bonus to Aeroplan, stack with credit card extra bonus to get 35%. Expiring January 5.
Thanks for highlighting that – I’ve just added that.
Can you tell if Travel PYB at 1.25c was extended for 2026? Confirmation would make the decision easier to transfer for 2026 travel…
at least one guy thinks so: https://dannydealguru.com/aeroplan-pay-yourself-back/
Old mattress runs have now been replaced with Edit Credit runs for me…trying to finish on 3 Reserves before year end!
Hyatt regency promo has been extended through 12/31
Thank you! I’ll get that post republished
Rove is 5x airbnb giftcards through today November 9 and 4x visa/mc giftcards.
I plan on converting all my Amex points to Hyatt. Do you know if they ever offer % bonus for that transfer? Have you ever seen one? I don’t need the points yet, but was wondering if I should hold out for a bonus offer?
Hyatt isn’t a transfer partner of Amex I’m afraid. If you mean you’re planning on transferring all your Chase points to Hyatt, I don’t think they’ve ever offered a transfer bonus.
Oops, I guess I meant Hilton. Thanks.
In which case, yep – Amex does frequently offer transfer bonuses to Hilton. You can check this page for past bonuses; scroll down to the ‘Expired Transfer Bonuses’ section and type ‘Hilton Amex’ in the search box and it’ll show you all the past dates. https://frequentmiler.com/current-point-transfer-bonuses/
Awesome, thanks!
There’s somewhat a similar opportunity with Buy Hilton Points For 0.5 Cents Each (Expires 11/21).
Buy the Hilton points with your Amex card and then pay yourself back with MR points.
Disregard. MR already transfers 1:2 to Hilton. Unlike Bonvoy.
Anyone here know how to add a credit card to your lifemiles profile? I canceled the card that was on profile. I was able to delete it and now there are no cards. I feel like I’ve looked everywhere and can not find a way to add a card.
Thanks.
I got a gold Amex Delta card after reading on Frequent Miler that there would be 80,000 bonus miles after 3K spend in 6 months. I don’t see that offer on the Amex website. Help please. Thanks.
I am surprised you don’t have the Barclays AA mentioned.
New applications end today 9/30.
I got an email for up to 100% bonus miles for Alaska. Is $3,500 worth 200,000 Alaska miles?
Pepper,
“Get a 25% bonus when transferring Amex Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors (1,000:2,500) (Expires 9/23/25)”
A 25% bonus does not yield 2500 Hilton Honors points.
A 25% bonus yields 1250 Hilton Honors points.
I believe it is an honest mistake, but it is misleading.
Note: The transfer itself does yield 2500 points.
The normal rate is 1:2 (2000 points).
The new rate is 1:2.5
I’ve booked a couple of Excursionist Perk itineraries in the last few days, somewhat speculatively. I know I can’t change them after Aug. 21 and still keep the “Perk”, but am thinking that after flying the “Perk” leg, I’ll still be able to make time and connection changes on a space available basis (possibly repricing) for remaining flights on the itinerary. I do that sometimes, and have liked United’s award ticket flexibility. Will miss the Perk, as I often book flights around Africa, where paid tickets can get really expensive.
