Are you two in the same room in different dimensions?
Yes, it was extraordinarily complicated and expensive to pull that off. Not sure it was worth bending the space-time continuum though.
So in response to Nicks question about other options for maximizing the spend on the $115k, I had a similar situation last year with a remodel. I value transferable points over any one airline or hotel program so I got the following;
1, AMEX Biz Plat – 250k pts/$20k spend
2. P2 got the same AMEX Biz Plat
3. AMEX Biz Gold – 200k pts/$15k spend
4. CapOne VX Biz – 400k pts/$150k spend
5. CSRB – 200k pts/$30k spend
With the points on the spends added into the bonuses we ended up earning 800k AMEX points, 700k C1 pts and 230k Chase points for $235k spend. The CSRB and C1 VXB offer are less now but the Biz Plat is up to 300k so those could still be ideas for your friend.
