FYI that the Etihad tier miles transfer promo actually will get you to Silver. After the promotion started, they announced that the status thresholds would be lowered to 80% (i.e. only 20K to reach Silver). They also extended the free monthly tier mile deposits for elites, so this could prove to be quite an interesting stack (transfer in 20K to get Silver, then you become eligible for the monthly free tier miles).
And oddball DP of the day: I transfered in my 20K to Etihad from Barclays Arrival Premier miles. They posted within a day!
